It’s almost that time of year when we make our annual donation trip on December 17, the date our Ruby had her open heart surgery 3 years ago. I’ve made a few changes to our possible donation page, which makes it easier to simply purchase items on Amazon on our Love From Ruby Donation Wish List. You’ll find various items that we are hoping to gift this December to those who have to spend their Christmas season in the hospital. It isn’t easy to spend any time in the hospital with your child, but the burden is definitely a little lighter with love shown from others. If you still would like to make items, we are definitely accepting them, but we do know how precious time is, especially this time of year.
I feel we could use some good stories this week, and so decided it was about time I shared this beautiful quilt from Tori, sent as a donation for those in Primary Children’s Hospital affected by a congenital heart defect.
Words can’t express just how much this means to me! To know that people spend their precious time and resources on the behalf of complete strangers is one of the most beautiful acts of kindness. I know that this quilt will be cherished! Thank you so much Tori!
Thank you thank you a million times over Tori! People like you give me so much faith in our country.

In more recent news, Ruby is doing wonderful! She had a check-up last month, and they don’t see any immediate cause for concern. Yes, she still has leaky valves but they are mild and almost expected with her heart defect. It was a wonderful check-up and sure eased my fears that something was off. We don’t go back for another year! We are so thankful. To those of you who have ever said a prayer in her behalf, thank you so much.
Love to you all!
