Because of her sweating more so, and because her echo showed that her heart wasn’t functioning properly, they did want me to come back into the clinic this day. They wanted to be sure that it wasn’t heart failure. I had called and mentioned the excessive sweating and fussiness. Of course the fussiness seemed very likely to happen, but the fact that she was more sweaty now than before surgery concerned the cardiologist and they fit me in, even though they were probably going to go home early and be with family for Christmas. The cardiologist I spoke with said they just needed to make sure she was ok before it became an emergency situation and they were harder to find because of the holiday. Goodness I am so thankful for nurses and doctors. I really just have such a special place in my heart for them.
They ordered an x-ray and looked her over. She was mad to be there again! I felt bad for her. Just when she thought she was done with that place and here comes all these male cardiologists poking and messing with her. And if you look like you are wearing scrubs, you best stay away! She was definitely very very wary of anyone at the hospital.
Their conclusion was that she was not in heart failure. They were concerned with the weight gain because she had now lost a total of 1 pound since her surgery day. I think a lot of that had to do with my supply going way down during those following days. But they couldn’t see anything that led them to think her heart was failing, so that was such a relief.
